I got into building Gaslands cars back in 2020, when I still wanted to hobby, but funds and availability of miniatures were a hurdle. Since then, turning Hotwheels cars into tiny post-apocalyptic battle vehicles has become a mainstay on my project rotation. Here are all of my cars and other vehicles as of the time of writing.

My first cars were primitive kitbashing, and normally ended up being very dark.

I used a number of dollar store action figure bits, along with hand me downs from a friend with a 3D printer. He printed out a number of these gasmask wearing Jin-Roh looking figures, who I would often snip in half and stick into seats as crew.

Early on I used craft jewelry both to make armor plates, and to give the idea of remote cameras for drivers.

I liked the militarized look, but quickly grew unsatisfied with the dark colors.

Brighter colors with more varied patterns were a good way to go.

A pair of construction vehicles blued together and with a tank turret on top to create a super heavy wasteland tank is one of my favorite builds. I had a lot of 1/72 scale military figures from other projects, so they started appearing as drivers and crew in vehicles, replacing the 3D printed gasmask guys.

I tried a grungy yellow for something different. This one came out too brown and muddled, but I kept at it with a pair of better followup vehicles for the construction crew.

I wanted to get more colorful and inventive.

The hot red sports car was fun, but I wanted to do better, so I tried again.

The second red sports car used the bike from Akira as a reference for some tiny freehand stickers.

A blue car as the obvious nemesis came next. It is sporting guns off of more dollar store action figure sets.

A pink car inspired by SAS Landrovers was an idea I happened upon.

A late made addition to the construction crew. A walker made from scronging through the scrap pile of the bitz bin.

I had completely lost the point of the project as was just building things, resulting in a podracer.

All grey vehicles, which I imagined belonged to a cult that worship the giant head on the tank as their god.

Stand lone ping pong ball tank project.

I just finished my first war rig.

I’m currently working on two cars, a grey truck a massive rotary gun, and a flame spewing pro-pain truck.

WOWW!!!!!! These are so super cool!
