A hobbiest reached out to me with a trove of collected material, which included a folder filled with Rogue Trader era space marines. The contents are just too good not to post. I have tried to track down sources for the work as best as possible.
First up is a ‘Brother Craig’ model painted in what to my eye looks like the Fighting Tigers of Veda colors, although I can’t find this exact model on the site so it may be a fan of the fan project, parellel ideas by another hobbiest, or just a tiger so obscure that I haven’t seen it before.

Next are a variety of Crimson Fist marines painted by Ninjabread.

The next artist with a lot of work in the trove was Jason Fulford, from the Rogue Heresy blog with a number of Flesh Tearer marines. This blog is still active, so do make sure to go over there and check out more than the small sampling posted here of his painting.

These RTB marines and early Terminator sculpts are part of a project to create a heresy era Iron Warriors army by user wrongwaygoback on reddit.

These marines with detailed abstract patterns that call back to some of the RT promotional paintjobs were included, though I couldn’t track down the creator.

Scouts were also mixed into the files, and below are some pieces from Bryan Ansell’s collection. These pictures and more were originally covered by the Eldritch Epistles blog.

The Ansell RT marine collection, covered by the same blog, was also a repository of more heavily armored marines. The three part series on the blog shares many more pictures and goes into more detail on the marines.

Some official material for context of the above marines.

Below are marines I believe are painted as Fire Hawks, accompanied by robot miniatures I truly can not identify.

Not to be forgotten, the vile forces of chaos are represented by anonymous painters.

The Rogue Trader era was a wild time in the history of 40k. This small collection will be just one more record of it. Perhaps it will inspire modern hobbiests in their projects. There is such much more Rogue Trader, 2e, and 3e era content in the collection that I was gifted. Certainly more posts to come in the future.

Curis from Ninjabread did some, and there have various other fan sculpts too.
