My Projects: Work-In-Progress Rescuing Romans

It’s been a while since I posted some of my own projects. I have been busy, and was actually just on the verge of beginning a custom Imperial Guard project when I unexpectedly adopted a box of 3D printed Romans from someone who had decided not to pursue finishing them.

The Romans arrived in varying states of assembly and paint completion. Some of them had to be stripped, although I elected to live with any of them already primed black and just give them a quick top-down white spray prime after rebasing them on 25mm rounds.

Since they were free I decided to get experimental and not use dedicated miniatures hobby paints on them. This army is being painted with craft paints from Folk Art and Applebarrel, and with washes created using Liquitex Inks and medium. I did eventually give in for one color, which is the basing, electing to use my Citadel Warboss Green as the final layer on them.

The following work in progress pictures show the troops in varying states of completion. Update pending when the whole box is done!

    Excellent work!

I’m a big fan of Windsor and Newton acrylics for figures and Dulux House paints for terrain.
